A friend who has been on rediffiland for some time now, introduced me to ‘blogging’ – something that I consider is “creative board of ex-pression” for my friend. On numerous occasions in the past he successfully coaxed me to read the 'posts' written by self and co-bloggers and led me into intellectual discussions on issues arising out of the blogs for several hours on phone, and no less on emails. Each time we felt we have had a meaningful discussion on each of the blogged topics my friend made it a point to remind me that I should register myself on the rediffiland and start blogging myself and explore the joy of my own creative ex-pression. I wasn’t convinced and counter argued – “How can I write when I don’t know the people who are meant to read it?” But he wasn’t the one to easily give up either, persisted – “All you have to do is to write for yourself and not for any particular group of readers. Since people will have an access to what you write – some times readership builds up involuntarily and sometimes it may not! It’s like a reporter writing for news paper” – was my friend’s resolute response to my adamancy.
Unable to counter the logic and perseverance, I started looking for other means to evade the coaxing. I said - “But you know I am not net savvy. You know that I don’t even know the basics of surfing leave alone blogging on rediffiland! You know that I will need someone’s help to register myself on the rediffiland and access the space every time I wan to blog. It will take me ages to understand all the features of blogging and rediffiland. Its not going to work”. I was mistaken – Given the attributes of selfless motive and tireless patience to help others my friend finally sat down to register me on rediffiland and said … and “Now! Start!….. I am waiting to see you blog and I know ‘YOU CAN’ – thus nailing my reluctance and excuses against ‘blogging’
I dedicate my initiation into blogging, to this indefatigable noble soul…my great friend – and as I embark a new flight into the unknown domains of open sky, I look forward to a fruitful blogging and convergence of humanity in diversity.
